What is a Divorce?

"Divorce, the end of an error" - Unknown

What do you think of when you hear the word "divorce"? Do you think of a marriage that is no longer salvageable, a trip to court, legal actions that cause you to hate the other person and costs you more money than you care to admit?

Well, we aren't talking about that kind of divorce! In life you go through divorces more often than you might think. It is not exclusive to dissolving a marriage. A divorce happens when people part ways from a relationship or object. To divorce means to isolate, segregate, discontinue, detach, or disconnect.

When things go sideways, upside down, or just seem unbalanced, it is time to rethink where you are in that situation. It is time to reevaluate, rethink, and sometimes even disconnect. Completely pull away from things that are causing you grief, stress, and/or discomfort.

We marry ourselves to our jobs, relationships, habits, thoughts, friends, what we watch and do and so on…

But when these things become harmful, and damaging it is time to shift gears, and that means to do all or some of the actions listed above. It is unhealthy to continue on a path of misery and destruction that will leave you damaged, insecure, harmed, belittled, and forever transformed in ways you never thought would happen to you.

Don’t let that happen. Get out in front of it and step away. So that you can be your true self, living a life of happiness, and enjoyment.
