In my experience working as a peer life coach, I’ve learned a lot about the connection between our physical bodies and our minds. Here’s a fact that really fascinates me: our body actually remembers/stores our life experiences. Most researchers agree that there is a significant mind-body connection, and some people go so far as to say that what the mind forgets, the body remembers.
Our bodies speak all the time, but we might not always hear the messages because they speak a language that we may not be used to hearing. You see, our minds are dependent on brain cells to work, and those brain cells communicate with the cells in the body. The body gets instructions from the brain, and these instructions are what we call our consciousness.
If you learn to love yourself and think positive thoughts, you can actually help heal your physical being. You can train your mind through meditation, prayer, or positive affirmations to increase vitality and promote wellness.
Always remember that our minds and our souls dictate our mental and physical well-being... whether we wish to admit it or not. A healthy body and a healthy brain go hand-in-hand.
