You probably remember playing with a T-Ball set when you were younger. The plastic ball sat on top of the stand and you would try and hit it, practicing your swing.
If you watch kids today playing T-Ball, you’ll notice that when they look away, they always miss the mark. Chances are, you’ve heard parents in the stands at ball games shouting the phrase, “Keep your eye on the ball!” Then, if the kid focuses on the pitch and swings at the right time, he might just hit a home run.
I’ve gone up to the plate and struck out many times in my life. But, when you hit a home run there’s nothing better than that feeling; when you see the pitch and you swing at the right time. There is something truly magical about feeling the ball connect with the bat and knowing you’ve hit it out of the park. It’s all because you kept your eye on the ball.
Here are some questions to ponder: What is the ball you’re trying to hit, and why do you keep striking out?
Tip to Take Away
You guessed it: keep your eye on the ball! Whatever ball you’re looking to hit, keep your eye on it. Don’t get distracted, you’ll strike out every time. Focus your intentions and hit a home run.
