There are always four seasons in a year (depending on where you live) but for the most part, there is a spring, a summer, a fall, and a winter. There is a time to plant and there is a time to harvest, but you don’t do both in the same season.
Think about the seasons of our lives. If you like winter, chances are you’re going to enjoy the winter sports and activities. But, if you don’t like winter, all you’re thinking about is how miserable you’re going to be when you have to go out into the cold. When we’re living in a season, we don’t think that season is ever going to end. Endless Summer is a dream for some people but an absolute nightmare to others. When we are in an uncomfortable season, we feel like it’s permanent. But, remember, there is a season for everything. One day the snow will melt and we can step into a glorious spring.
Life is like that sometimes. So, if you think about anxiety and stress, in those moments we are stuck in a season of life we don’t want to be in. We call that place the valley and that is where true character is built. Everyone wants to be a the top of the mountain but that state of peace is only a season.
The questions is how we react or respond to the seasons of our life. Learn to go from one season to the next and try to make the best out of it. Enjoy the season you’re in, whether it’s spring, summer, fall, or winter.
Tip to Take Away:
No matter what season your life is in right now, imagine experiencing the things you love. Stop and enjoy everything around you. The snow will eventually melt and you will step into spring.
